Haunted Happenings in Fort Myers

October in Fort Myers naturally comes with a slew of Halloween activities — some fall family fun, some totally spooktacular things to do! Peer into haunted places on a ghost tour, walk through a cemetery or try a ghostly pub crawl this month and beyond.

Do you dare to take a walk through haunted woods? Every weekend starting October 6, Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium will terrify even the bravest of the bunch with jump scares and creepy characters along the way.

In addition to its classic fall festival, autumn is also the spooky season at Springtime Farms in North Fort Myers. The 2024 Spooky Ranch Scream Park has several dates to choose from between October 11 and October 26. Included in your ticket are the Trail of Terror, Stalkers Farm, Killers in the Corn, and Crupt Carny. Add on a Howling Hayride if you want to extend the terror.

Have you ever heard of the ghostly apparitions inside Andrew D. Gwynne Institute, a former Fort Myers school? Or The Veranda in downtown Fort Myers, where employees frequently notice items moving around and spooky footsteps on the stairs? On a 90-minute haunted history tour, you’ll learn intriguing local stories. Follow your guide as you duck into alleys and step into local landmarks where there have been sightings of ghostly figures. You’ll walk along the famed McGregor Boulevard where, at the turn of the 20th century, construction workers unearthed human remains that had been left in shallow graves. Hosted by True Tours, you can explore Fort Myers’ darker side in the historic River District or take a stroll through a cemetery to learn about the area’s most notorious pioneers.

Talk about a local haunt! The Fort Myers Beach Haunted Pub Crawl is an annual tradition that brings together barhopping, eerie storytelling and great conversation in one fun adventure.

Every year, Gator Mike’s Family Fun Park in Cape Coral amps up its scary factor. Take a terrifying hike in the woods, encounter scary creatures roaming all across the park and step into the haunted house if you dare.

Bring the whole family to Farmer Mike’s U Pick in either Bonita Springs or its newer location in Fort Myers. On Friday and Saturday nights, a spine-tingling haunted maze will keep you guessing at every turn, or you can choose the weekend kid-friendly maze themed around the Wild West.
