Enigma Daniel Jude Venditti

Enigma comes from the Greek, meaning "to speak in riddles.”

This show seeks to challenge the viewer to find the meaning - their meaning - in each piece. Each figure represents some aspect of the human condition - anger, happiness, fear, confidence, sensuality - or a combination of any of these emotions. I find that I express my deepest thoughts, my greatest joys, my darkest fears through figurative work. The human face, the gesture of the body speaks to us in life and in art. There is a story in each piece, a different one for all of us.

I lost my Father late last year while I was creating most of the work you see in this exhibition. That loss and the celebration of his life is a part of every work represented here. Art has always helped me address the raw emotion that we all feel as we move through…just being.

Enigma is my way of putting it out there, letting everyone decode the meaning for themselves.
