Floridian Arts & Culture Expert
Lydia Black
As a self-described “arts & cultural junkie,” I believe the arts are essential to the quality of life and economic prosperity in Lee County. I currently serve the Alliance for the Arts (ArtInLee.org) as CEO/Executive Director. With a master's degree in Nonprofit Management and undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Communications, I love being a part of the area’s growing cultural community. I serve as an active community volunteer and proud member of Rotary Club of Fort Myers. Recently, I was named one of Gulfshore Life’s Women of the Year and have been recognized as a News-Press Trailblazer and one of Gulfshore Businesses’ 40 Under 40 recipients.
I’m most proud of my loving and adventurous daughter, Emerson, and extremely handsome and successful business owner husband, Chris. After 10 years of living, working and playing in Fort Myers, I’m very happy to call SWFL home. Area favorites include: palm-lined McGregor Blvd, charming downtown Fort Myers, and of course the magnificent Gulf beaches – Lovers Key being a favorite!
