Dynamic duo performs in Songs from the Sand virtual concert series Aug. 19
What: The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB), iHeartMedia and Cat Country 107.1 welcome both Sheena Brook and Angie K to the Songs from the Sand virtual concert series at Pinchers at The Marina at Edison Ford.
Enjoy acoustic music and conversation as Sheena Brook and Angie K tell their stories behind the songs to host Miriam Dotson, VCB communications manager.
Who: Sheena Brook, BMI singer-songwriter and Fort Myers Beach native, captured the nation’s attention on NBC’s Season 12 of “The Voice.” Since appearing on the show, Brook has worked with multi-platinum songwriters and artists to further her creativity in her unique style as both artist and songwriter. The Island Hopper alum is also the founder of The F.E.M. (Female Empowering Musicians), an organization that hosts events to allow the support of women and provides an outlet for their own special creativity.
Angie K, BMI singer-songwriter recently named a “Highway Find” by Sirius XM. The El Salvador-born and Georgia-raised country artist just released her new single, “Real Talk,” which has immediately been added to mega-playlists “Wild Country” and “New Boots” on Spotify as well as “Breaking Country” on Apple Music. In 2017, her Disney duet with Jordan Fisher, “Happily Ever After”, became the soundtrack to the nightly fireworks show at Magic Kingdom.
Angie K has opened for Tanya Tucker, Trace Adkins, Melissa Etheridge and more.

Why: Songs from the Sand previews the Island Hopper Songwriter Fest, Sept. 17-26, which will be on Captiva Island, historic downtown Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach.
Background: Songs from the Sofa debuted in May 2020 with music sensation Sam James. The monthly live performances have included Jay Allen, Maia Sharp, Dave Pahanish, Ben Allen, Clint Daniels, Parmalee, Danny Myrick, Bridgette Tatum, Hannah Ellis, Julia Cole, Ruthie Collins and Kristen Kelly. All performances are archived on the Island Hopper Songwriter Fest Instagram page.
Songs from the Sand debuted in February 2021 with Sheena Brook at the Pink Shell Resort & Marina on Fort Myers Beach. In May, Devin Dawson performed at DiamondHead Beach Resort. Songs from the Sand gives music lovers a chance to see the beautiful views of Southwest Florida.
